Vinícius Bivar

Vinícius Bivar is an Assistant Professor of Modern History at the University of Brasília, where his research focuses on the transnational history of political extremism and far-right movements. He earned his doctorate from the Freie Universität Berlin with a dissertation on the foreign policy of the Third Reich toward Latin America—a study supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). In addition to his doctoral degree, he holds an MA in Modern European History, Politics, and Society from Columbia University and a BA in History from the University of Brasília.

Alongside his primary research and teaching, Dr. Bivar contributes to public-facing scholarship by providing historical analysis for international media and academic outlets. His work situates the development of contemporary radicalization in Europe and the Americas within a broader 20th-century historiographical context, offering expert commentary on the evolution of global illiberalism.
